TEHRAN – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has praised the Iranian people’s support for the Islamic Republic system, saying it forced the enemy to abandon the option of war against Iran.

Speaking at a gathering in Rostam County in Fars Province, Raisi said, “The people's trust is the best support and power for the Islamic Republic of Iran system, and their powerful presence on the scene has caused the word of war to be removed from the world's arrogant literature.”

Addressing well-wishers, he added, “This large gathering is a testimony of adherence to the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The sympathy of the people and the good security of the country are divine blessings that the people and officials should appreciate.”

‘Supporters of Israel are complicit in Gaza crime’

The president also pointed to the situation in Palestine. He said the Zionists are killing children in the Gaza Strip. “Supporters of Israel are complicit in this crime. You Zionists could not deceive the public mind by oppressing the Palestinian people. Destroying Gaza and killing people will be the responsibility of the aggressors,” he said, according to IRNA. 

Raisi has traveled to Fars Province where he denounced Takfiri terrorism and called on those who claim to defend human rights to bear responsibility for the actions of their terrorist groups. 

During his visit to Shiraz, the president delivered a speech at the holy shrine of Shahcheragh, which has witnessed two terrorist attacks in the past. 

On Thursday evening, he met and talked with a group of families of the martyrs and those wounded at the two terrorist incidents at the holy shrine, according to the official website of the Iranian presidency. 

In the meeting, Raisi described the crimes of Takfiri terrorism as a continuation of the historical enmity of the enemies of God and the Ahl al-Bayt with the people of faith, and added, “Today, those who claim human rights and freedom of speech have been ignored must be held accountable for how terrorist groups and their agents are attacking believing people only for the crime of worshiping God.”

Raisi stated that the names of the martyrs of the sacred shrine of Shahcheragh are always honored and unforgettable. “The selflessness and sacrifice of the martyrs and their families have doubled the responsibility of the statesmen and we hope that with your good prayers, the noble family of the martyrs, we can fulfill our mission in solving the country's problems”.

In Fars, the president and his accompanying delegation attended many public events and inaugurated a number of development projects. 

Raisi also delivered a speech before a gathering of Shirazi people. “The people of Fars province are dear, loyal, people of science, culture, literature and art, diligent and hardworking and they passed their exams very well and showed that they are effective in various fields and resistant to the enemy and possess the spirit of resistance,” he said. 

He considered Fars to be the province of the proud intellectuals, including Mirzaye Shirazi, and added, “Fars is a breeding ground of noble martyrs like Martyr Dastgheyb and 15 thousand other proud martyrs whose words resonated in the atmosphere of Iran and their words and messages should be heard.”

Raisi pointed out that the enemy made efforts to cause horror in Fars province, stating, “The enemy's anger towards these people caused them to send their agents to the Shahcheragh shrine to terrorize innocent children and pilgrims and kill them, and today they are committing crimes against humanity in Gaza.”

While emphasizing that today the sound of post-Zionism and the destruction of the occupier regime of Al-Quds can be heard from the minarets of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the president stated, “The merciless killing of the defenseless people of Gaza is a sign of the helplessness and desperation of the Zionist regime and being in a steep and irreversible descent of this regime.”
